They're Here!!!
January 8, 2007: Puppies have arrived. Looks like the final count is going to be 8!! OMG we had a NORMAL sized litter!!! I just got done poking around her belly and didn't feel any hidersSmile So, we have 4 boys and 4 girls. 4 of the puppies are dual's and 4 are sable. The last born has that gorgeous reddish-brown color like (grandma)Goldie. One of the duals I will have to have Ma look at....it looks quite "silvery"! Mama is nursing her babies, and all look healthy.

January 28, 2007: At three weeks shey all have their eyes open, and are just starting to sit up. They also walk, and bark at eachother. This is the cute stage!! They still sleep quite a bit, and Luna is doing most of their care still. They will have their first meal of formula and rice cereal tomorrow. I will avoid photos after that...lol First meals are a mess! They are all nice chunky puppies! I am really impressed with the heads Phoenix has passed along! And we seem to have gotten some size too! I should know in the next week or so how many plush and smooth we have.

February 4, 2007: Here are the 4 week puppy pics! These were taken right after their bath, so some appear quite wet:) They are eating really well. We will start on a more solid diet next week. This week they are eating baby rice cereal with puppy formula and some wet food mixed in. They like to swim in it and cover their litter mates with it. Yes, we are ready for more solid food!!! They are all up on their feet walking. They play with each other and bark. They are very cute!! They recognize me when I walk in the room, and all come running for some hugs and loves. It is looking like all are plush except for Green boy who is still looking to be a smooth.

This will be Luna's last litter. After much debate, we decided to give her one more opportunity to add some really awesome dogs to the upcoming Shiloh Breeding stock. This will be a NB2 litter with NO Artus anywhere! The females and males from this litter will go great with many of the Artus boys and girls out there. Or, even the non-NB's!! There is also no Grizz in these lines. Luna's first date with Phoenix (by AI) was today. We will meet again on Saturday. We expect both plush and smooth, and a variety of sables. I am doubting we will get white, but there is a chance! We have two plush breeding females already spoken for and 3 Pet quality puppies. I expect temperaments very similar to the Jessie/Gryphyn litter. (Jessie is Luna's sister, and Phoenix is Gryphyns dad).

In this litter we expect size! Luna and Phoenix are both large dogs. Luna is 28" at the shoulder and about 100#. Phoenix is about 31" I believe. We know he can produce size...look at Gryphyn and Acer! And Luna has produced some HUGE puppies too, like Loki, Toby and Teddy!
This is a NB2 (Orbit) litter, with no Artus in the background.

This will be a really nice litter, and similar to our last Jessie/Gryphyn litter (except no Artus) who were all very social puppies. We will have both smooth and plush, and a variety of coat colors.
Watch for pictures in about 2 weeks!!

Litter Summary:

Red Collar Boy: Medium-soft temperament. Pet-upgradeable. Reddish/brown sable plush. Great overall head, excellent bone, great thigh, well muscled, nice tail. He is a very happy puppy. He followed the tester with his tail wagging. No retrieve drive or prey drive....he just was interested in the tester. On the maze, he went halfway and layed down. He wanted us to find him a way out, or he was just going to stay there.

Light Blue collar Boy: Medium temperament, Show Quality, Light gray sable plush. His head and heavy bone are his exceptional qualities. He also has a great tail, and nice small triangular ears!! He does not have much prey or retrieve drive, but will play. He was perfect through the maze. He has a great nose and will air scent and ground scent. He has some aloofness and independence.

Dark Blue collar Boy: Medium temperament, Breeding Quality, Gray sable plush. This guy has excellent retrieve drive. Also, he will do whatever you want for foodSmile He is a watcher, and wont miss much. He does have a serious side to him, and is not submissive at all. Though is very trainable. He will work for praise, treats or a good game of fetch.

Green collar boy: Medium temperament, Show Quality, Black and cream dual smooth, This guy will work for praise from his people. He is slightly aloof with strangers, but will warm up. He has awesome retrieve drive, and picked up the can and paraded around with it. He came right out of the maze once he evaluated the situation. He has very nice movement, well balanced head, good bone, great pigment, and a nice straight tail.

Rainbow Girl: Medium to Medium-soft, Gray sable, Breeding quality. This is our girly girl. She has a balanced but female head. She is a happy puppy who loves to snuggle. She has taller ears, but they are triangular, not GSD type. Her ears are standing already. She has a perfectly straight topline, and smooth overall movement. She went after the ball, but just to check it out. Not much drive here. She went through the maze the first time, slowly, thinking. The second time (just for fun) she went over the wall. She followed the tester wagging her tail through most of the testing.

Light Pink: Medium to Medium-soft, Pet-up, Black/cream dual plush. She has nice balanced movement, great doggy head, heavy bone. This one is smart and determined. She will also face what is unknown to her. She is a gutsy girl. We has real gunfire at the end of the testing and she is gunsure. (The neighbors started firing their guns at the property right next door). She has a touch of stubborness, and could have some defiance. She was VERY interested in the squeeky ball too.

Purple collar girl: Solid Medium, black/cream dual smooth, Pet-up. This girl has confidence! There was constant gunfire next door through her entire test, and it didn't bother her a bit. She killed the tug, but not much interest in the can or ball. She did the maze quickly and perfectly. She has a nice balanced doggy head, nice movement, and great pigment.

Hot Pink girl: Medium to med-soft temperament, black/tan dual plush (with some reddish tones like Shelby), Pet Quality. She has a great doggy head, beautiful small triangular ears, nice bone. She bonds quickly and works for praise. She will look for security in her people. There was gunfire throughout her test, and it was distracting to her, but not scary. She seemed to have interest in the ball, but no retrieve drive. She ran the maze perfectly, and was very confident in that challenge. She will work for praise.
