"Thought you might be pleased to know a couple of items from our vet, Dr. Barno, regarding Shadow. The pup is, in Doc Barno's words, "a real find". His exam showed no problems at all, and he remarked a couple of times at how engaged and responsive Shadow was. Doc Barno was also impressed at the work you had done, as shown in the papers you provided us. He reviewed the shot records and other info, then told us he was impressed by your protocol. He said not every vet is currently using the three-year plan for one of the shots, but he's happy with it. Doc Barno stays up with new studies & trends, and in fact had just returned from a conference at one of the veterinarian colleges (Oregon State University). He was fine with everything you have done and recommended to us so far. It was nice to get that reinforcement of your program, and I figured you wouldn't mind hearing about it! Must get ready for work, but we'll talk w/ you more in the near future. We are tickled with our little dickens; he's learning (and growing!) fast. "Anyone considering one of these pups- I must tell you how absolutely cool they are. Oh, and healthy to boot! I took Ranger to the vet yesterday for a once over and no problems, not even the "normal" puppy stuff like diahreah from switching water/food or a little wormy- nothing! He's been a breeze to house train (well, except when my husband is "watching" him ), and just too much fun. He loves his walks, and just prances out tail wagging the whole time. I am really impressed with the care that was taken with him before I got him. He was clean, healthy, and obviously socialized since he came out of the crate at the airport. Oh, and this age is perfect, I think the extra week or two with the littermates actually works to your advantage. They're still impressionable balls of fluff, but just a little more developed than the wee little 8 weekers."
